| I
was raised in a pastor's home and came to trust in Christ as my Savior and
Lord at an early age. I did not take my commitment to Him seriously
until later in high school and college. But, I fought against His
call in becoming a pastor for many reasons. Finally, I surrendered
to His will in regard to this calling and went to Gordon Divinity
School after college. After my first year in seminary, Fran and
I married. I received a M.Div. in 1965 and since then have pastored
churches in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine and Maryland. In
1972, I received a Th.M. in New Testament studies from Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary and in 1983 received a D.Min. from Eastern Baptist
Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA in Ministry to Marriage and Family.
Fran and I have a son, Wayne, Jr. and a daughter, Lisa who are now married. We
have been blessed with six grandchildren. I came to be Senior Pastor
of Perinton Community Church in 1989 and have enjoyed serving the
Lord and His people here. My wife, Fran, is a special education
teacher. |
